This ancient species was thought to be extinct until botanists found a small population in China during 1944. Although it’s now been planted widely across the globe, it remains classified as endangered by the IUCN.
The tree produces fresh green needles that are soft and delicate – looking quite like those of the Coastal Redwood. During autumn, the foliage changes to brilliant orange and brown tones, creating a stunning display.

Please note, Dawn Redwoods are deciduous. (Coast & Giant Redwoods are evergreen). If you are purchasing in late Autumn and Winter, there will be no leaves on these trees.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
