Giant Redwood *Sequoiadendron giganteum* ‘Powder Blue’ is a quick-growing form of the giant sequoia, famous for its eye-catching, powdery-blue leaves that make it one of the bluest varieties available. Originally bred at Peacedale Nursery in Washington, this cultivar has a relatively open growth pattern with a wide-spreading shape.
‘Powder Blue’ grows at a quick pace, putting on roughly 45-50 cm each year. After ten years, it usually stands around 4.5 metres tall.
This full-size giant sequoia, recognised as one of the biggest conifers, creates a more open framework and broader trunk than Giant Redwood *Sequoiadendron giganteum* ‘Glaucum’. It shows a strong, upright central stem with horizontal lower limbs that start to droop down as the tree gets older.
The unusual awl-shaped, pale-blue leaves make it particularly attractive. Given its enormous final size and special look, ‘Powder Blue’ needs plenty of room to develop properly, making it a spectacular choice for large gardens where there’s enough space.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
