Deodar Cedar *Cedrus deodara* seeds give gardeners the opportunity to cultivate a stunning evergreen tree famous for its elegant, weeping branches and delicate bluish-green foliage.
Native to the Himalayan region, this species adapts well to British conditions, bringing continuous visual appeal and sophistication to gardens throughout the year. The Deodar Cedar creates an impressive focal point in spacious gardens with its stately appearance and commanding height, developing a broad, pyramid-like crown as it matures.
Starting from seed allows you to nurture a tree that will beautify your outdoor space while supporting local wildlife by providing shelter and food sources.
*Cedrus deodara* grows best in bright, sunny positions and favours well-draining, moisture-retentive soil, proving to be a hardy selection for diverse gardening schemes. Once established, this adaptable species requires little maintenance whilst delivering striking visual impact, making Deodar Cedar seeds an excellent choice for both amateur and professional gardeners.

Natural Germination: Deodar Cedar seeds benefit from a period of cold stratification to effectively break dormancy. Planting the seeds outdoors in the autumn allows them to undergo this natural process.
Artificial Stratification: If planting at other times, soak for 24 hours, then optionally simulate this cold period by refrigerating the seeds for 30 days before sowing in a moist medium. Seeds should germinate at room temperature.Se ed will germinate without pre-treatment. Cold stratification for 14 to 30 days hastens results.

You are welcome to collect any times from our nursery in Euxton, Lancashire. Please contact us to arrange a suitable date and time.
Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
