Bosnian Pine ‘Schmidtii’ is a delightful dwarf pine with a neat, compact growth habit. Its dense, dark green needles grow in tight bundles, creating a lovely textured appearance. This small tree grows very slowly, forming a perfect little Christmas pudding shape that rarely needs any trimming. The needles are quite short and stiff, giving the plant a tidy, well-groomed look all year round. It’s particularly charming in winter when its tight, rounded shape stands out against the snow or frost. The slow growth rate means it’s perfect for small gardens, rockeries, or growing in containers. Fresh spring growth brings lighter green tips, adding subtle colour changes through the seasons. ‘Schmidtii’ is a low-maintenance pine that thrives in most garden conditions. It needs a spot in full sun and well-drained soil but isn’t fussy about soil type. Water regularly when first planted, but once established, it’s quite drought-tolerant. No pruning is needed as it keeps its neat, rounded shape naturally. An annual feed with a general-purpose fertiliser in spring will keep it healthy. This pine is very hardy and generally resistant to pests and diseases.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
