The Cedar of Lebanon *Cedrus libani* is a majestic conifer with a rich heritage spanning centuries of history and legend. This slow-maturing tree requires patience and plenty of room to flourish, but rewards growers with a spectacular specimen that can tower up to 35 metres or higher. The tree’s horizontal branching creates the characteristic layered appearance that makes mature specimens instantly recognisable. Dense clusters of short, dark green needles clothe the branches, giving the tree its lush, textured look year-round.
Young Cedar of Lebanon trees start with a classic pyramid shape, gradually transforming as they mature to develop the famous flat-topped canopy beloved in stately gardens and parklands. Large, upright cones appear in autumn, standing proudly on the upper branches. These impressive cones need several years to ripen before breaking apart naturally on the tree to scatter their seeds.
Beyond its striking appearance, this tree proves remarkably tough once settled in. It handles dry spells and strong winds with ease after establishment. Wildlife benefits greatly from these trees, with birds and small mammals finding excellent shelter among the branches. Whilst once highly valued for its long-lasting and aromatic timber, nowadays these trees are grown mainly for their decorative appeal and cultural importance, standing as natural landmarks in gardens throughout Britain.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
