The Arizona Cypress Cupressus arizonica is a wonderful evergreen that provides beautiful blue-grey foliage throughout the year. This attractive conifer naturally forms a tidy pyramid shape with minimal effort from you. Its gorgeous blue-grey needles maintain their colour in every season, making it perfect for adding interest when other plants have died back. It looks great planted alone as a feature tree or used in groups for screening. Gardeners with limited space can keep it compact through gentle pruning. As the tree matures, its bark sheds in strips, revealing attractive reddish-brown patterns underneath. Originally from the Arizona and Mexican mountains, this hardy tree coped with extreme temperatures in its native habitat. It’s now popular in British gardens, thriving in various growing conditions.
Choose a sunny location with good drainage for your Arizona Cypress. Though it tolerates different soil types, it dislikes waterlogged conditions. Give it regular water during its first year to help the roots get established, after which it becomes quite low-maintenance. Once mature, it handles dry spells well. Regular feeding isn’t essential – just apply some general fertiliser in spring if growth appears sluggish. Light trimming in late summer helps maintain its form, though heavy pruning isn’t required. Be mindful of strong winds in open gardens, as established trees can act like large sails in windy weather.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
