The Creeping Juniper ‘Limeglow’ – *Juniperus horizontalis* is a brilliant evergreen that adds vibrant colour to gardens all year round. This variety catches the eye with its glowing lime-green foliage that really shines, particularly in spring as fresh growth appears. It’s a low-growing, mat-forming shrub that creates thick ground cover, ideal for gardeners wanting to add lively colour at ground level.

‘Limeglow’ usually grows to around 1-1.5 metres across whilst staying just 10-15 cm tall over a decade, with steady growth. Its creeping, low-profile nature makes it suitable for various garden spots, including sloping areas, rockeries, border fronts, or cascading from containers. The bright lime-green needle foliage offers continuous appeal throughout the seasons, looking brilliant when paired with darker plants or positioned against pale stone or gravel.

This juniper really excels at adding brightness to garden spaces. The zesty lime-green shade brings a fresh, cheerful quality to planting combinations. It’s particularly useful in areas with some shade where it can lift darker spots. The mat-forming growth also contributes interesting texture and form to garden layouts.

Many gardeners pick ‘Limeglow’ for its reliable character and toughness. After settling in, it handles various soil conditions well and manages drought and city pollution effectively. This makes it suitable for easy-care gardens or tricky locations where other plants might fail. It also resists most pest and disease problems, meaning minimal ongoing attention needed.

When you want a plant that performs well throughout the year with little fuss, ‘Limeglow’ fits perfectly. It maintains its vivid colour across all seasons, giving ongoing appeal to your garden.

Creeping Junipers have long been garden favourites, appreciated for their robust nature and adaptability. The ‘Limeglow’ cultivar adds a colourful element to this dependable plant, combining typical juniper resilience with bright visual appeal.

For those wanting consistent colour and simple ground cover in their gardens, Creeping Juniper ‘Limeglow’ works brilliantly. Its eye-catching foliage, spreading growth, and undemanding character make it a worthwhile choice for any garden.

Caring for Creeping Juniper ‘Limeglow’ is straightforward, which is great news for gardeners. Plant it in a spot that gets full sun to partial shade – full sun will help maintain the best lime-green colour. It prefers well-drained soil but can adapt to various soil types, including poor or rocky soils. Water regularly when it’s first planted to help it establish. Once settled, it’s very drought-tolerant and rarely needs watering except in prolonged dry spells. You don’t need to feed it often – a light application of slow-release fertiliser in spring is enough. Pruning isn’t usually necessary, but you can trim it lightly to maintain its shape if needed. Keep an eye out for any signs of browning or dieback, which could indicate stress. ‘Limeglow’ is very hardy and can cope with winters without extra protection, even in exposed or coastal areas.
