Juniper ‘Skyrocket’ *Juniperus scopulorum* is a fantastic evergreen that adds vertical interest and form to gardens. This narrow, upright tree has a distinctive pencil-thin silhouette that’s ideal for tight spots where you need height but can’t spare much width. The blue-green needles look good throughout the seasons.
This tidy column shoots upwards rather than outwards, usually getting to 4-6 metres high while staying narrow at around 60cm across. The slender habit means you can squeeze it into borders near walkways or use it to flank entrances and garden gates. Two planted together create an elegant, formal effect.
The thick foliage forms neat, vertical sprays that look lovely when the light hits them. During winter months, whilst other plants have died back, this juniper maintains its appearance and gives valuable colour to the garden. Wildlife often shelter and nest in its branches.
These smart, upright trees are common in grand gardens, but they’re surprisingly straightforward to look after. They hardly need any trimming to maintain their outline, which makes them brilliant for time-pressed gardeners wanting a neat appearance with minimal effort.
Plant your Skyrocket Juniper in any well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. These tough plants cope with most conditions but don’t like sitting in wet soil. Once settled, they rarely need watering except in very dry spells. No regular pruning is needed – they keep their slim shape naturally. Watch out for heavy snow, which can sometimes splay the branches – just shake it off gently. They’re generally pest and disease free, making them one of the easiest plants to grow.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
