Sequoia sempervirens has striking thick, fibrous, soft and spongey reddish-brown bark and slightly drooping branches with dark green linear needle-like leaves that are arranged in two rows.

Coast Redwood *Sequoia sempervirens* holds numerous impressive records:
1. World’s Tallest Tree: Coast Redwoods are famous as Earth’s tallest trees. The current record-holder, known as “Hyperion,” reaches an incredible height of roughly 379 feet (116 metres). Fresh discoveries might reveal even taller examples.
2. Massive Living Organism: Coast Redwood forests create one of our planet’s largest living organisms through their connected root networks, called “clones.” These clones span vast areas and comprise genetically identical trees sharing communal root systems.
3. Ancient Specimens: Whilst not the oldest species, some Coast Redwoods have survived over 2,200 years, ranking them amongst Earth’s longest-living trees.
4. Extensive Groves: California’s Coast Redwood forests, especially in places like Redwood National and State Parks, contain some of the most spectacular and expansive groves of these magnificent trees, forming breathtaking natural settings.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
