Black Pine ‘Green Tower’ Pinus nigra is an impressive upright conifer that adds bold vertical interest to gardens. While standard black pines spread widely, this particular cultivar shoots straight up in a tidy, slender column. Dense clusters of dark green needles cover the vertical branches, giving a lush, textured look that remains attractive throughout the year. It’s ideal for compact gardens where ground space is limited but you want to add height. This pine has steady growth and maintains its narrow profile with minimal trimming needed. The long, rigid needles come in pairs and catch sunlight wonderfully on bright days. During winter months, its strong upright form creates striking silhouettes against the sky, providing structure while other plants rest. The compact width makes it excellent for forming privacy screens without eating up precious garden space.
Plant your Green Tower Pine in full sun where it can grow unobstructed. It’s not fussy about soil type but needs good drainage. Water regularly in the first growing season until established, then only during long dry spells. A yearly feed with a general-purpose fertiliser in spring is enough. You can control the height by removing the central growing tip in spring, but otherwise, this pine needs very little pruning to keep its shape. It’s quite wind-resistant thanks to its narrow form, but still best to avoid very exposed sites.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
