Scots Pine Chantry Blue *Pinus sylvestris* ‘Chantry Blue’ is a beautiful evergreen conifer that adds cool sophistication to gardens. This compact, slow-growing form of our native Scots Pine develops an upright habit, perfect for smaller spaces or creating striking focal points in larger gardens. The variety gets its name from the gorgeous blue-green needles that provide a soothing, cool appearance.
‘Chantry Blue’ works brilliantly in rock gardens, mixed plantings, or as a feature tree on its own. Its manageable size won’t dominate your space, whilst its evergreen foliage delivers interest throughout the year. This pine looks particularly attractive when grown near plants with different coloured leaves.
Our native Scots Pine has grown in British gardens for centuries. The ‘Chantry Blue’ form is a newer selection, valued for its lovely blue-green tones and compact growth that suits modern gardens.
This hardy pine adapts well to different conditions and thrives in gardens across Britain. It shows good resistance to common pests and diseases, making it fairly low-maintenance. The thick foliage offers valuable shelter for small birds and wildlife, helping to support garden biodiversity.

*Pinus sylvestris* ‘Chantry Blue’ is relatively easy to care for. Plant it in well-drained soil in a sunny position. It tolerates a range of soil types but prefers slightly acidic conditions. Water regularly during its first growing season to establish a strong root system. Once established, it’s quite drought-tolerant. Pruning isn’t usually necessary, but you can remove any dead or damaged branches in late winter if needed. Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring. This pine is generally pest and disease-resistant, making it a great choice for gardeners of all skill levels.

Seeds
We generally send seeds out via Royal Mail Second Class. It’s the safest and easiest way to deliver seeds.
Young Trees
Young trees (Less than 1.2m) will generally be sent via Evri.
Larger quantities of young trees will be sent via ParcelForce or pallet courier..
Huge Trees
Some of our huge trees are too tall to be sent via a courier. They are generally only available for collection from our nursery, local delivery or via occasionally pallet courier. This will be shown on the individual product page.
